I am exctied to be apart of Team RISE 2020.
Three of my favorite things in life are running, education and Africa. I am running the Chicago Marathon and fundraising for RISE International.
As an educator I have seen how education unlocks doors and allows children to chase their dreams. I have been teaching for 7 years and am thankful to be apart of empowering children. As well, I have seen first hand the impact that education can have on individuals and villages in rural Africa. Education empowers young children and helps them espcae poverty. It allows them to have a better future and to help their families. Education brings hope. Education does not only affect the child but whole villlages. I am thankful to join an organization that strives to give children of Angola a chance to recieve education.
Chicago will not be my first marathon; however, I have been looking forward to running it for many years. Please consider giving so that childen in rural Africa can be empowered and receive education.
